If you look at your link, at 48 Seconds, to me it seems obvious that the pass is played forward by number 23 to a player (Santana) that is closer to the goalline than the goal keeper. Am I missing something? :shrug:

got his foot to, diverting it into the path of the eventual goalscorer (the dark skinned chap, I believe).

and bounce back again towards the goalscorer? I think one could be forgiven for thinking it came off the goalie's hand, but the Attached video shows it comes off the no 23's boot sole, doesn't it?

to rebook an appointment. Coz no matter how hard I try, I cannot see the defender being even close to the shot/pass from the number 23.

23 then gets his boot to it and deflects it to 27, who scores. That deflection is the point at which 27 is offside.
