I grew up in a mining community and was closely involved with Welfare Benefit and can tell you without a scrap of doubt that the "me me me" and "entitlement" attitudes are a legacy of the early to mid 80s.

She implemented things that were wrong but the country was already fücked in other ways and needed her (or someone) to tackle it
