View Full Version : Is there a rule on how early in the day a Sat prem league game can be played?

I think the earliest is 12:45, but have there ever been any earlier ones? I vaguely remember an 11 am game once I think.

I'm not asking for knowledge (RIP) reasons by the way

'A special mention must also go to Coventry City's [then known as Singer's FC] FA Cup match with Burton Swifts in 1892, as Joe Myall explains. "As Burton played in a higher division, they had the right to arrange the game as and when they felt it would least impinge on their league programme." The match kicked off at 8am.' :-)

As they had to play the game a certain number of days before another one

This is actually turning into a fairly deviant thread
