Figuratively, of course. Some of you I wouldn't go near in an NBC suit.

and you end up taking it on the end of your fingers. Never liked wicketkeepers. And never understood why it hurt more when it was direct from a bowler rather than a nick

I never minded slip....it was a reflex position. The hardest ones were when the ball bounced just in front of you, especially on low bouncing tracks.

Fielding at cover is always worse imo. You can see the half volley being bowled, you can see the batter winding up for an extravagant drive and you can hear the sound of the middle of the bat. Then there is that awkward moment when the ball is coming straight at you and you know you cannot get away with diving over the ball.

Gully was the other difficult fielding postion, under these conditions.

I actually fielded in the gully more, fortunately I was generally more concerned about our fast bowlers *******ing me for poor fielding than getting in the way of a well-struck shot

and no I don't throw like a girl! I can fizz the ball in to the keeper but only from within the circle

sport would seem as tedious as to work

Always hated that particularly in the cold. At least long-on/long off you get a good view of the ball
