On the subject of him, following the absolute lack of class he displayed in leaving I find it impossible to wish him well or be happy for him in any success he achieves.

In many ways I am a small, petty man Monty.

I'm not sure we can definitively say he was an arsehole for releasing that statement (which, it's worth noting, merely said what everyone in the world knew already).

For all we know, the club promised him he could leave last summer before changing their minds, putting him into a position where he felt he had to force the move.

He left us Mont, he f**ked us. His family were happy, we'd stuck by him though a very dodgy injury record, the team was built around him and he was captain and still, still he f**ked us.

f**k him, I hope his ligaments, tendons and bones all simultaneously snap and he has to communicate by eye blinks for the rest of his life.

Actually I couldn't really careless. He (and/or agent) calculated his way out of the club and that displayed a lack of feeling for the club.

Now that he has gone, we should move on. I certainly will not wish him any luck, nor will I feel any sense of pride at him winning the title with ManU, which he certainly will this season.

you've fallen out of love with.

Our ambition should be to become a club that can one day fulfill the hopes and dreams of players for their entire career. That we are not there yet is no-one's fault, and certainly not the fault of players who choose to leave us for bigger and better clubs.

Actually, it's *******s without respect.

Much like the anti wenger brigade, I simply must apportion blame somewhere. It seems logical to me to blame the fifth columnists who undermined the whole thing.

We feel pride in Arsenal doing well because we are associated with Arsenal.

The only people that would show "pride" for RvP are those that were involved in his development, i.e. those who got him to this point. Wenger, yes, his coach at Feyenoord, yes, Colin Lewin :-), perhaps.... Monty of Cricklewood?

have one fully fit decent season in about 8 then saying you want to join one of the clubs most hated teams is c**tish. He's basically spat in Wenger and every Arsenal fans faces. Wenger's a c**t for being a soft pushover and just nodding his head to it as well. 2 c**ts dont make a right imo

Secondly, would you think it was strange if a fan of a lower league club felt a sense of pride at seeing one of their players make it to the top level?

They'd stuck with him through his torrid injury record, they'd built the team around him - a team which had just finished third and got to the CL Qtr finals, they'd made him captain, not to mention the fact his family were happy and settled in London.

So thats a fairly compelling list, isnt it?

Also, you've not explained why the board should be blamed for a player's decision. Do you blame the board for Nasri or Adebayor leaving too? I'm just struggling with your logic here.
