.. its 20 seconds full on 100% sprint followed by just 10 secound rest/walk then again 20 sec.. aim for 8 times full on at 20 secs.... i did it after 3 mile run medium jog..and honestly after about the 4th or 5th 20 sec burst I could hardly think..remember how many 20 sec bursts i'd done, was hyper ventialating by the 8th, nearly sick, some big spits and wheezing like i ws dying :-) ..then did 1.5 mile slow jog..quite impressed tho as it really seems to sort you out. think ill try it for few days a week on top of normal stuff plus maybe do it with pullups or similar too.

Basically, if you run at a consistent pace your body starts to think you're trying to escape from a predator and so starts conserving energy more efficiently, making it harder to burn.

By staggering your pace, you trick the body into burning the energy at a quicker rate.
