I can only assume M lives somewere sufficiently urban that he fears for the cat's life should he let it roam on it's own.

Unfortunately he seems to have failed to grasp the concept that rather than subject the beast to a humiliating alien daily ritual he should have realised he ought not buy a cat.

My sister lives in Sydenham and has 2 "house cats"...of course what she means by "house cats" is "I am a pissy old mad cat woman in the making, unable to connect to a human being in a normal relationship and am therefore prepared to submit innocent animals to a life of drudgery and torture.
