View Full Version : This US drone killing thing, isnt it what they've been doing for years in Afghan, Pakistan and Iraq?

Oh ****, sorry, it's that it's AMERICANS who are dying.

I see the crucial difference there, it's the perceived difference in what their lives are worth, isnt it?

Right to be read his rights e.t.c. ...can't just be taken out by a drone. He is entitled to due process....govt wanted to ignore that

Whereas it's completely fine to blow someone to **** if they aren't covered by Freedom Insurance.

I mean, as moral compasses go you have to admit it's drifted some way off course.

by stopping him.

* This stance is only valid under Obama Presidency of course. He is fine with it during Republican Presidencies.

Now WHAT is so different about Obama :rubchin:

I mean seriously, women, children, families, babies all fine. Not a problem at all as long as they aren't in the US.

The patriot act, say nothing when Obama retains the same laws, and more! It's the hypocrisy of it all that rankles.....just like all the dems who want me to pay more taxes but are delinquent themselves! ....geitner, Kerry e.t.c

That is pretty scary. Afghanistan is still, technically, a war-zone blighted by insurgents. I'm not sure the same can be said about the U.S. That said, it could come in handy during a Tea Party rally.

I thought there was some sort of debate on using drones in times of emergency such as a gunman on a rampage. This might as well be a story about people using hot air (sic) balloons more.

This is my first (sic) ever. I hope I've used it properly. Where is Berni when you need your grammar dissecting?

Potential tyrannical regime...the current govt deploying drones to kill Americans is seen as an assault on the constitution by many including rhe filibustering Rand Paul...what the govt does in other parts of the world is a separate issue to them.

Classic Jorge

even to the point of tossing out the constitution, with all of those nasty things like trials and reading of the rights and all that nonsense.

It's because someone might be an "imminent threat" to their regime. Someone like ... me.

Remember Clinton deciding to just lob a few cruise missiles thinking that he is "handling" the Iraq situation. Accomplishes no strategic objectives, but makes it look like they are tough.

All of this is just making us look weaker and encouraging Al Qaeda.

But at least he's not a Mormon businessman, eh?

I was opposed to it under Bush and am opposed to it under Obama.

BUT! When I opposed it under Bush Chief called me a terrorist lover and worse.

So he can take a high fking horse to heaven up the butt. He's only opposed to Obama and he finally found something good.

as soon as a Repub is in office (Yay team!) he'll get the pom poms out again and attack anyone who dares question.

And wrt to Chief, I predicted his evening earlier that afternoon.

http://www.awimb.com/fudforum/index.php?t=tree&goto=3652 977&rid=653&S=cdb2bed7c26ca1b5d2055287a7f3e27f (http://www.awimb.com/fudforum/index.php?t=tree&goto=3652977&rid=653&S=cdb2bed7c26ca1b5d2055287a7f3e27f)

You weren't here then, but he never once, not ONCE, said anything or allowed anyone else to say anything negative about Bush or his policies.

"Why do you hate America? Why do you want the terrorists to win? Why do you support the killing of our troops?" He was incessant.

I have zero respect for the clown.
