View Full Version : You see, This is one those media gossip comments that make you realise that the whole FFP business

is being completely bi-passed.

City are one of only a handful of sides who could afford Rooney, but the Premier League champions are targeting Napoli striker Edinson Cavani, 26, and 27-year-old Atletico Madrid forward Radamel Falcao.'

City will have a massive problem off loading players to clubs that can afford them. Signing these two together would surely only serve to push their wage bill into oblivion and beyond and insure their end of year financial result would go soaring beyond the 150m debt mark.

FFP eh ?

Cavani and Falcao?

Good lord.

Targeting suggests that they would buy one or the other not both. I would imagine a lot of the players they want to offload are coming to the ends of their contracts so that might lessen the load. It is also being said in many places one of the reasons Rooney won't leave is that FPP means no one would take him on at that price and wages. Where is the truth, 7, where is the truth

and struggle to read any sense into them.
The whole speculation about Rooney is quite tragic. The poor ******* gets dropped for one game and then press have him sold off to the knackers yard the morning after. :hehe:

Evil grudge bearing ******* that he is.

Beckham and van Nistelrooy dropped from relatively big games in a manner to suggest the end of their careers which in turn forced them to look to leave.

Discussed in detail the other day on radio here.

I am surprised by some of the **** that gets written about him on here (well not that surprised) best part of 200 goals and shedloads of trophies for United - quite the impressive record even if he hasn't quite filled his potential

A rather dictatorial restriction on how clubs manage their debt.

In other words, you are fine as long as you pay your bills.

Ultimately, if a guy wants to pump money in, can you stop him? Should you?

If they are inent on preventing clubs from going bust, that is a good thing. The level playing field is as big a fantasy as it always has been. All this really does is claim to prevent the likes of city from investing hugely over a short period to force their way into the elite.

It doesnt actually do it, but you could argue that it isnt really fair anyway.
