our inability to compete for the proper trophies?

Is the idea that it would provide some kind of foundation for further success actually based on anything substantial?

Some big names still get carved onto that ' meaningless ' trophy.

Until then, it can be a stick to beat the manager with.

beyond the monkey off our back, which I think is felt more by the fans than the players (especially the new ones).

The suggestion that it would naturally lead onto greater things is pretty weak, ino.

either.
Confidence, as we've seen, can make all the difference. The invincibles must have bulldozed there way to a few results on the back of it.

Once now and then perhaps , but not consistently so.
We didn't lose game against Blackburn down to misfortune.

To me it emphasises that we don't have the quality in depth that the manager believes.
Resting key players is one thing but these were both lower division set ups that we were entitled to beat with the second string.
It's not often a top club f**ks up in both competitions in the early rounds..

than when our corners hit the first man.

And why does Theo take them anyway? Why isn't he in the middle trying to score?

a good opportunity to rest some players. I don't blame Wenger for his team selection.

Why does RVP take corners and free-kicks.
