View Full Version : Giroud was once again so average it hurts. He does his best I suppose

and he is bound to tally up a few handfuls of goal by the end of the season (as any striker would playing so many games up front for Arsenal. Even Gervinho has scored a few playing up front). But we clearly need a bit more than what he gives us.

Even though we seemed to start ok today, it all fizzed out and ended up being another toothless performance with the usual defensive wobbles :-(

if you could lower your expectation a bit to our recent form. It made me confident about getting at least a point from the game.

Don't blame him though.

The scary thing is that of the front three these days, he's just about the best one :yikes:

I actually think Podolski offers less as an all-round player to Giroud. Even when Giroud isn't scoring his knockdowns and flicks are pretty good. He 'brings a lot of players into the game', whatever that means.

on several occasions...but in the end we never did, apart from the 1 Ramsey chance in the second half.

But our wide players were nullified in the attacking third because they were too conscious of Lennon and Bale on the break. Giroud fought and his honesty of effort was there. The subs were strange imho. Taking Jenkinson and Arteta off backfired.

10 days of resting will refresh them.

Usually with his back to goal.

He's effectively playing the Smudger/Bergkamp role but the others don't look for the ball to be nodded down or make the runs like a Ljungberg, Henry, Pires, Overmars, or even Vieira would, so he can slip a pass in and then turn to join the attack.

If they did we wouldn't rue the show he does miss so much, cos in fairness he's scored a lot for us when they do support the attack more.

Shots that a club vying for a top 4 pot shouldn't be wasting. Problem for him is his age. If he was kid then f**k yeah you'd be excited but he's not....bye bye Giroud...and don't forget to take Germissio, Bendnter and Arshavin with you

And you know scoring from outside the box is forbidden.
