"All about the oil" wasn't one of them. It's a lazy, simplistic, one-size-fits-all argument that skips the thornier questions about the habits of the most powerful nations using military might against smaller nations at will, usually on trumped-up charges.

As you're one of the few people here that recognises how western action involves frequently backing Islamism, it's hard to see why you still trot out what I consider to be the old canard of "it's all about supporting Israel". I see that as much of a schoolboy error as "it's all about oil".

Energy security will become a bigger and bigger issue in the years to come. At some point or other, there will simply be more demand than it is possible to supply - I somehow doubt the US will be the country to miss out.
