BMW 1 series
BMW X1
Nissan Qashqai
Mercedes C Class
Volvo V40

That is obviously different cars in different price ranges, I will spend about £20k so the better the car I get the more miles it will need to have on the clock, less gadgets on it etc.

So go ahead and pick my car for me awimb.

On a much lesser car, trousering the balance of at least 10k, probably more.

Might have a few miles on it tbh.

Or buy a 4 year old Mondeo and spend 15K on fags and booze etc.

The Volvo, Mercedes and Squashcar?

The Volvo drinks fuel in comparison to a 3 series, the Mercedes lose vailue by the second and the Squashcar is, well it's Bale-ugly

I test drove a volvo a couple of years ago and it was really nice. Nicely styled inside, I liked the look of the outside, drove well and had a lot of kit for the price. The V40 is a new model this year, I haven't looked at it in detail yet, but I normally drive diesels so it won't drink fuel.

The Mercedes is cos my mate works for Mercedes so I could get a cracking deal.

The Qashqai is a lot of car for not a lot of money. I had one as a hire car last year and loved it.

would see what deals your Merc mate can get you. On a Merc or whatever else gets chopped-in for March 13 plates.

The 3 series drives better that the Volvo. I have not driven the V40 but have the V70 last November. Good but I chose a 5 series in comparison. I do 30k miles per year so important to me.

The BMW engines are very, very efficient also in comparison.

Merc is fine if you can get it cheap. Try going up to E class and you will get a real bargin as they are being re-shaped this year. Basically the same car but with new panels so they are giving them away. I was offered a demonstrator E350 with 800 miles on the clock for 30k so you should get a 220 with mileage for your 20k.

The Squashcar is still pig-ugly. If you want a 4x4 with all the whistles and bells then get a Santa Fe. for 20k you will get a belter with whatever is left of the 5 year warranty.

New model still fairly recent and who wants the previous version for around 20k ?
