... has Fernando Amorebieta signed for us yet?

Exactly the kind of defender we need AND available for free in the summer. Arsène must be interested. (He's allowed to sign a pre-contract already.)

All the more reason to get him signed before anyone else takes interest.

left Arsenal, forgot about any Barca aspirations and went straight back to Germinal Beerschot where he started out as a pro.

because unlike before when i knew when most wenger signing was quality...i'm not sure anymore

2010: chamakh, squillaci, bossielny....ony the later have made any positive contribution

2011: perhaps wengers worse transfer summer ever...lost cesc and nasri, bought santos, arteta, ben ayoun, mertesacker, and park...i can honestly say not one of them have impressed me or have shown any particular quality in their game

2012: giroud, podolski, cazorla.......cazorla has been magnificent...the other two okish..at times ...average otherwise

i duno much about this guy you post but he looks average on youtube...and we all know not many players look average on youtube....i'm lost

I should write headlines, you know

He's essentially a good, old-fashioned, unreconstructed centre-back. Think Keown with a few more skills.

He's also very vocal, bosses the back four and intimidates the opposition a little with his commitment to the cause.

In Spain he gets headlines because he's been sent off frequently – I think the most times in the history of Bilbao and they have a traditions of dirty, ahem, I mean tough players.

However, most of those reds would be only be yellows in England AND a lot of them have been against Barca and Real. Opponents can get booked in Spain for giving their players a hard stare, never mind a hard tackle.

It's the **** way they are unable to defend as a unit that strikes me is the main problem.
I can't see much wrong with our current LB and RB options. Mert adds height, which should in theory be supported by the agility and pace of TV.

These are by and large decent players. I'd probably only wade in for another central defender and a better defensive midfielder.
