just a shame we now have 2 of the most loathsome players in the game.....some would say 3

There are a lot of horrible Aussie cricketers, but he's not up there for me.

Glenn McGrath.

and Smith will be f**king off for the 2 months Ponting is over here.

That said, Ponting is a really nice bloke by all accounts, I think we all just hated him because he was good and an Aussie.

persevering with him, but it's fairly clear that his only trick has now been comprehensively found out and he has nothing else to offer. So why does he still get a game, LA?

and Kieswetter - another one who was worth trying but not quite good enough. Woakes is filling the not quite good enough role at the moment on the bowling front (odd that a Warwickshire player gets the not but I do quite like Ashley Giles and Woakes is a superb batsman)

yet uses that as the variation. If he bowled at 90mph as a first option and slipped in the odd slower ball, you'd have a far more effective bowler on your hands.

that one passed its sell by date long ago.

Our gain is Surrey's loss.

I have heard stories of when he was at Middlesex for a couple of months, he spent a lot of time helping out the young players and when Cricket Australia stopped him playing in one game, he stayed around and carried the drinks, which doesn't strike me as the act of the egotist.

Mind you, he is a fast bowler ergo a c**t - sorry Rich, and he did remarry remarkably quickly after his wife died :sherlock:

all hate.

McGrath and his 5-0 predicition really used to wind me up.

will take some shifting now (though Broad needs to buck up his ideas). Amazing that Jimmy has now taken more international wickets than any England bowler

and his stock ball was a variation. Maybe he can learn away from the international team

Very pleased for him - again, he seems to come across as a very decent man.

and maybe Brett Lee. I like Ponting - terrible loser but since when was that a bad thing

with the off field issues, which Ponting had when younger but cleaned up his act so made himself easier to hate.

Brett Lee just seemed like a nice bloke, didn't seem a particularly scary prospect, even when bowling at 95mph, because he was always smiling.

Went away for a couple of years and bowled well for Lancashire before he got back in the team, hasn't looked back since.

quicks coming through at the moment. Tymal Mills at Essex looks a good prospect, tall, quick and a leftie.
