actually spend it on bringing in very expensive players.

It's not really his style is it?

So how do we fix it, folks?

money. In fact I doubt that we have had a year on year net spend, over the last 6 or 7 years. Without looking at the figures, I reckon every penny spent in the transfer market has been recuperated by player sales.

I get what you're saying though, but every team is different.

The traditional defensive midfielder seems pretty out of fashion nowadays, with the passing-blocker preferred.

Naturally of course, we have neither.

United players don't dwell on the ball as long as our ones ,the United game plan is more direct and a bit quicker.
Rooney puts himself about all over the pitch - we don't have anyone doing that, it's all pass pass pass... usually ending up in us losing possession .

Another 15m min on wages for the duration of their contracts.

does he change and adapt to the players that he has....or does he try to play the right way and eventually fail because he doesn't have the players?

I do remember when he first came to England, he said he was a 4-4-2 man and preferred that to the 3-5-2 formation we were playing at the time. However, he stuck with the 3-5-2 becuase he felt he needed to do the adapting. This might be one of those times where he needs to do a bit more adapting

In fact, I don't think the formation has yet been invented that can overcome the fact that the players aren't up to it.

This is basic lore of football we are talking about.

I was saying that Wenger had made necessary adaptations in the past and recognised that he had to make that change. Now that he needs to make a different change, does he recognise it? Either he doesn't, or he doesn't want to. We cannot play this tippy tappy stuff with the players that we have. we need to play a bit more like Milan are doing tonight or like Bayern did last night.
