"The players gave everything" is surely an admission that we are simply miles off the top level? He also said we have no confidence, yet the other day he said we were on a good run?
I do worry for him.

I agree with you, actually. The past month or two have shown him (along with the rest of us) lose faith in the powers of this current group of players.

I would find it very hard to believe that, should he stay, he won't be trying to make wholesale changes this summer.

That story about him spending 25 minutes in a room alone last night before marching off to do his press conference - heartbreaking.

Who knows what thoughts were going through his mind? Should I quit, am I going to be fired, how can I present a positive face to the press, how can I avoid losing my cool like pre-match?

Wenger is going through his own personal hell right now and fourth place is the only possible redemption.

He consistently picks the wrong team and has bought second rate players but he cannot see it. So surely he must go! Top four seems a step too far now.

Looking at that we could be two off chelsea. Think spurs will beat west ham but you never know in that won.

Going to be a massive NLD for us. :-( :gotthe****salready:

It's an iterative process though, plus, even with a £70m WARCHEST, we can't afford the types of players that would immediately transform our fortunes.

off the dressing room area and spent 25 minutes in their alone before coming out and heading to the press conference.

Maybe he just wanted to relax, meditate, who know. Horrible though to imagine his state of mind.

And when they signed the deals, it all seemed quite reasonable. Amazing how things change eh?
