... but purely as a compromise solution as he felt we'd be uncompetitive and have too little cash left over for transfers...

credit for how things have turned out.

He had no idea that television and other streams of revenue would make matchday revenue much less important to a clubs ability to compete financially.

He had no idea that russians, arabs and americans would turn up and run football clubs as though they were toys and had never heard of a p&l.

Moving to AG hasn't made us unable to compete. It is the changes at other clubs in moving the goalposts that has done that. And that has nothing to do with Dein. For the long term of the club, we are much better positioned to have AG than to not have it.
