Yeah, right.

I don't think Bayern have had an easier game all season.

Beckenbauer chastised them after the match for being complacent and going easy on Arsenal...

all quite predictable really

I have to say I wasn't that confident going into yesterday's match given how Bayern trounced Schalke recently (and given how we did against them ourselves), and also generally how they seem to have been playing.

We've played a lot worse than we did last night and won convincingly, but it does all rather depend who you're playing against, doesn't it?

If Wenger doesn't have a cunning plan to deal with Bradford or Blackburn how the hell did anyone expect us to beat Bayern. The swatted us away without even having to work.

Wenger talks about how good we've been recently, but dealing with the likes of Stoke and Sunderland should be par for the course – the very minimum expectation – not some measure of progress.

Chesney had virtually as much to do in the 2nd half as Neuer did in the first.

The Blackburn and Bradford games were just things that happen like Liverpool losing to Oldham, Spurs to Leeds, etc...they happen

Potentially top ten in europe maybe but this season and in this style of play, there are easily 25 teams that would beat us.

Otherwise I will be forced to call you an annoying c**t. Thanks in advance.

OK, happy for you, if you find that comforting. I think you'll see the real Bayern in the second leg. They put on more of a show for their home fans. If they do, it won't be pretty watching for us.

but yet again we only woke up when the game was out of our hands. City, Chelsea and BAyern. We go 2 down before we wake up. That is pretty disappointing.

the whole thing much easier to deal with

You (the club) sell your best player every year for the past 5 years and replace them with lesser players, it's hardly surprising we're not very good

I blame the board not AW

but waking up after half time, when the game is already lost, is not indicative of whether we have good or bad players, ability wise. Our inability to stop an opposing team from getting behind us is not about ability, but about work on the training pitch, or rather, the lack of it. These are the areas that Wenger is responsible for. He won't change this, so we may have to consider that we need a new manager  Yesterday, we lost to a very good team, but we still made it easy for them. ?It looked like they beat us with loads to spare.

I do not know whether it is the board or the manager who are to blame for the state of the club. A load of bollox quotes that come from within the club only server to muddy the waters and make it difficult to see what is actually wrong within the club. I can only conclude that the current venom being spouted towards Wenger and the team is a relief to the board members, as it is not them coming under attack.

Win - he has proved that he can still motivate the team to compete with the best

Lose - no-one could have expected anything else

This changes nothing - he is a busted flush.

Lose - major hysteria.

Of course, you have completely ignored the general thrust of the article to give us another airing of your broken record but that's to be expected.

It's all just opinions either way. What the article above does't make clear though is that Bayern had a far tougher game against Wolfsburg last Friday and Wolfsburg are profoundly average this season.

they are losing to Bayern Munich. It wasn't through lack of effort, they're just not trained well enough to defend and the personnel are not top quality. What more could they have done?

Hillary

Man Utd had a much tougher game against Norwich than they did against Man City. Therefore......f**k all.

On its own, this means nothing. We would have expected to be comfortably beaten last night and were. We could have won, we could have lost 5-0, such are the vagaries of a one-off football match, but the expected result happened. It doesn't mean that Wolfsburg are better than us.

It was the beginning of the end for me as a match goer, although it took another 4 or 5 years for me to finally jack it in.
