in Turkey for it but it was refused by the Turks because they didn't want to upset Iran.

I should imagine they have fairly robust measures in place to ensure that any missile aimed at them would be blown to pieces very quickly. But what would the situation be here with regard to fall out from the destroyed warhead?

a nuclear missile would necessarily make it go off, as the reaction has to be started in a specific way.

You could destroy the propulsion part of the missle over the ocean, and the warhead would fall into the sea undetonated.
