As I understand it: It currently proposes a £4m limit on increase on wage bill for all clubs with a bill of above £52 million.

So if your bill is £65 million you're not allowed to spend more than £69 million. If your bill is £250 million you're not allowed to spend more than £254 million.

Not exactly fair play, really.

spiralling salaries and transfer fees.

Fairness shouldn't be a part of it.

If your turnover increases, as ours just has, it is entirely reasonable and responsible to use it to up your wage bill.

To shareholders as dividends? Or should clubs be forced to sit on massive cash reserves and bail out the banks next time round?

plus a little more in the spirit of allowing them to speculate to accumulate.

pay for their own tickets out of the money they "earnt" the previous day? They used to ask for people's daily travel cards when they've finished with them, but now with oyster cards i guess they can't do that...

because "wage bill" generally translates to "agents' fees" nowadays.

Naturally the clubs want to keep the money themselves.
