Said he didn't think wenger would sell to them. It's simple-
Wenger and the board is only interested in money- aka champions league football
Rvp has won united the title,
And don't give me *******s about us having no choice, or that he would've gone for free next season. Utter rubbish. U dont sell a player like that to a direct rival end off

Or to put it another way, who but a rival would be interested in our players and be able to afford them anyway?
That's football. It happens all the time.

They don't do as I would have liked.
Why don't they just buy Cavani and Ronaldo and Falcao? And don't sell Van Persie?
It works! I have tried it on Football Manager several times.
It's easy. What does Wenger know anyway?
I want to live in a universe where player's wishes, economic restraints, competition and complicated realities do not exist. Where everyone is available and no one wants to leave.
And if that just isn't possible I will whine like a bitch for a year in the hope that someone will notice me and my unique opinions.
I am special and I deserve, nay, demand trophies.
Now!
WENGER OUT!

just because RvP was forced to stay, doesn't mean he would perform the way he had been doing. In fact I'd argue that he would have under performed by a significant margin.
When a player wants out, he doesn't fight it, just tries to find a way to make it happen.

if we had kept him, we would have had a £90k a week wage going to an underperforming player

Spurs.
They might even improve, as they'd have a direct impact on the contract he would be offered.

that would help validate your hypothesis that the club are only interested in money.
It is all hypothetical.
