working themselves up into an apoplectic fury over lack of signings. He also admitted that with a week to go it was probably about time he started a little bit thinking about who he might bring in, but things have been hectic lately with all the xmas dvd box sets to get through, and he was fairly confident in signing David Villa for 10m late next week.

If not, we might be a little bit short up front but Chuba Akpom could probably do a job there if needed. And of course, the prospect of his critics literally exploding with rage would be a tremendous laugh. "It would be fùcking amazing" he said.

If he's expecting explosions next week he may be in for little disappointment.

We haven't really gone over the logic of a manager who has built a squad so fractionally short of challenging a club assembled for a billion pounds also being a useless ****.

Even though teams like Bradford and Birmingham have shown up our weaknesses over the last few seasons regardless that compared to them we are as man city is to us.

since we're only one key signing away from challenging them.

And so I'm still left wondering how you reconcile that with "wenger is a useless ****".

I can understand frustration that he's not making that small extra effort needed to make us challenge - but to be there, so close, is surely an indication that he's getting plenty right?

Content with doing the bare minimum to finish top 4. No pressure at all from the board just keep treading water hoping that the clubs with less resource than afc don't suddenly put a team together. In the meantime sell best players for a fortune while just invest in the bare minimum to keep the Wenger fans happy. All along he knows that the mugs who support and worship him will be happy with what others can see as
a lack of ambition.

Anyway I don't the top 3 are untouchable. That's an excuse for the Wenger cult.

I know that's been offset by big transfer fees received, but as we seemed to agree on recently, the only player Wenger could be criticised for not replacing is Nasri.

Ashberto

While we have underperformed in certain matches against Bradford, Birmingham and Bingley, surely the real delusion is to deny the affect on our league aspirations of the bankrolled clubs. They are not an excuse for Carling Cup failure, but then what is the Carling Cup worth anyway?

The club has ambition. I proved it and you went charging off in a new direction. We have lost to smaller clubs before, under other managers and we will again, under other managers. It's football.

You see if we were to get more points by not giving away silly goals then perhaps wecould challenge. Its a novel concept I admit and its something I dont expect Wenger fans or protectors to grasp. As far as the dead wood is concerned its a shame that they can't add deptb to the squad and do a job when needed. That could also have given additional scope for points earned instead of dropped. But hey it is what it is.

Anyway back to your inane question. We have some fine individual players. Theo and Jack are my favourites along with gibbs and chez. Like bfg and diaby as well.
Wanted Afobe to make the break through but can't see that happening now.
Carzola Pold need consistancy. Ox still too raw to be so dependent on. Sagna on his way but has been one of our top players. Arteta isn't a dm although Wenger thinks otherwise.
No affiliation with the others. Kos and tv over rated. Would like a good manager to manage, coach and gel them plus those two additions. But stuck with Wenger.

Monty91
01-25-2013, 03:46 PM
and yet one more addition to the first team, plus another as back up, and we could be title winners.

Still doesn't add up, I'm afraid.

East Upper for Supper

We have a decent squad of 18 with the rest just Wenger dead wood buys from wasting resources. Those 18 plus 2 good additions would do better with a good manager who could coach and motivate them.

So the 9 players I mention with 2 additons and the other squadies. A good manager wound get the best out of tv who at the moment doesn't deserve his over rating. A new manager may also get Sagna to stay.
