Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes that clubs should only be allowed to sign two players in the January transfer window.

The Frenchman has claimed that it is "unfair" on clubs that have to play the likes of Newcastle United, who have already acquired three new players in the winter market, in the second half of the season.

People like Nic wonder why hes abused and not respected. The mans a liar, talks utter rubbish, thinks the football world owes him, wants to play the game to his beliefs only, wishes to change the transfer market because its not fair. he shows contempt for fans and no wonder hes abused. The sooner hes gone the better for football and Arsenal FC.

I cannot logically think why the man would say as you suggest he has.

To come out with such an over-the-top reaction to what is simply a man floating an idea in a press conference is quite frankly ludicrous. He is a football man and has views on how the game should be run - this is hardly a revolutionary idea since the advent of registerered squads and transfer windows we've been going down this road anyway. Personally I disagree with him on this but I am sure there are many people who might at least be interested to debate it without reducing the argument to the immature name-calling that you frequently sink to

The entire debate is bordering on the absurd.

The fact he wants a limit on new signings reveals his fear that clubs actually do benefit and gain an advantage from bringing in new talent.

The idea that he then says buying players is a gamble and counter-productive is simply búll**** - child psychology 101 to make it seem that his own reluctance to spend is in some way actually strengthening the team and avoiding gambling with the stability of the team and the club. A team so stable and consistent at the moment that it can destroy West Ham one week and then lose to 'inferior' opposition the next.
