Personally, not convinced that if a player's arms are out that they should be punished, but it's how most refs interpret it, on the basis that they could avoid the ball hitting their arm. Or something.

The ball was going into the goal,his hand stopped it going into the goal.A penalty. :shrug: Who cares if it was deliberate or not?

The referee I suppose :-(

does on the pitch is supposed to be deliberate. If footballers can't control their bodies then they shouldn't be there.

when controlling the ball, it clearly isn't deliberate but still usually given

Having your arms flailing out from the body makes them a potential barrier.

I would have given that one but it was a very tough spot indeed.
