View Full Version : Theo back to infuriatingly inconsistent mode again last night

A part of me feels we'd be getting raped by handing him 100k a week, given our position with financing.
He's definatly a player we need to keep but he's miles away from being a world class striker.
Llorente looks as if he may now be off to Juve.
A part of me wonders if by blowing the budget on 100k a week Theo, we've compromised our position in terms of bringing in a top class forward.
Has Wenger stuck his neck out too far in support of the boy :rubchin:

allowed to go as you'll say another world class player has been allowed to leave

Why don't you keep out of the financial details especially as you don't have the slightest idea (none of us do, just his agent and the relevant Arsenal people know) what his package is and coming up with £100k / week is absolute nonsense

Its the going rate ffs. If we dont like it we should get pennant back on 65k a week.

The idiot Fans rule about Walcott.....

Theo doesn't score hatricks every game and therefore should be heavily critised in his every move and moment during the game. If he doesn't beat 10 men and put in a cross for the deadly Giroud to bury then he should be slaughtered. After all every Arsenal player plays brilliantly every game and if we lose we shuld always blame Walcott. Even if he doesn't play. And if Walcott does play we should all single him out and slaughter him for not scoring 5 goals every game despite the fact we may have won the game and he was very unlucky not to get on the score sheet.

to people posing questions or opinions that don't meet with your own.

The idea is to have a counter opinion mate, not to assume a loftier than thou position that we all know you to be deeply incapable of. ;-)

inconsistent.
Just saying that I'd have doubts about offering him a 100k per week.

Wenger said he wanted to resolve the Theo situation before looking at striker options in the market. That may ofcourse be bull**** but it also implies that he has huge faith in Theo and bringing in another striker may impact on his development.

I have no problems with people giving different opinions but I do have a problem when people just moan

our good play, and very unlucky that the Cheating Chico got away with pushing him off balance when he had the clearest of chances than you are right, assuming you mean inconsistent as in really quite good

and JD leaving.... Arshavin leaves at the end of the season so that is another 50-80k a week saved

different things.
As far as consistancy is concerned I find it amazing that the word consistancy is only ever leveled at Walcott. Does any other player who may play great one game then followed by a poor one get the old inconsistancy tag thrown at him? No they dont. So lay off Theo.

come on Nic, every paper has got the figure within 10k of 100k a week, so fair to use that as the figure in any comments imho

He also wasn't pushed that hard by cheating chico either, suggest you might want to look at that replay, but I wouldn't hang him for that either.

Let's have some perspective. He's a good player, I just don't think he's worth 100k a week, particularly given his, at times, poor finishing.

By bringing in another forward, it would have a huge impact on how often he'd then play. Of course, the whole thing's a gamble.

If he's worth 100k, then god knows what Jack's worth ?

he hasn't signed a contract yet and especially as the paper speculation is £100k, that upsets fans.

Are fans really in a better position than the club to decide what a good contract is for each player? What is your opinion on the subject?

makes a point that our better pleyers wont leave every season, and if he didn't carry on improving we would still get good money for him in 18mths

and that what is in them is a load of tosh that doesn't stroke with his views . The course of action for him to slag your post off and briefly and then quickly bury his head in the sand again.

Like here, where he asks for evidence; is then presented with evidence; and then says "that's a stupid article"

that Theo is inconsistant. Players like Messi or Ronaldo are very rarely inconsistant. Thats why they are paid 200k+ a week. RVP and Rooney have more good games than bad on 150k-200k. Walcott plays a lot of poor games and when he's good hes a match winner. Going rate for that type of player 100k. Ordinarys player like Kon, ok defenders like Gibbs 50-65k.
Thats the going rate I would imagine.

don't earn anything like 100k a week. Defoe, Michu, Felaini, just for openers.
I'd prefer the model where we pay 75- 80k and put in a performance incentive.

You're not prepared to go out on a limb and have Theo start everytime, why ? Because my friend, he's too bloody inconsitent as a goal scorer. We have a glaring need for a finisher, Giroud and Theo both fall short. If AW brings in a new player, we'll end up with Theo and Giroud on the bench again and that's a lot of money to have sitting around when they're not playing.

Match winners are valuable. at 100k thats fine by me. The other players you talk about I have no idea what they earn. More likely if they came here they would earn near 100k especially Fellani who would be in demand if he were available.
Defoes a c**t so I cant bare to mention him. Mischu would now be commanding a massive increase if he were available and moved to a bigger club.
