Had its head in a cloud and visibility was one yard at 9.30, but we were allowed to come back later on our tickets, so I visited Southwark Cathedral while waiting. Which was nice.
Eventually I could see the top so went back up (combined ascent time of the two lifts to the 68th - about 40s) and although it wasn't clear enough to see further than the edge of The City (could just make out the Barbican towers in the haze) the view was really spectacular. With all the trains around there it looked literally like a model railway, Richard. Albeit a highly urban one with lots of very detailed buildings. Billingsgate looked like a beautifully made cardboard miniature of itself. HMS Belfast looked like a toy. The Tower appeared to be in a display case. St Paul's squatted low on the ground.
Triffic.
