View Full Version : Paul Vaesen - There is no evidence that Walcott has "demanded" he play upfront.

What makes you think it "smells" of a demand, rather than a request? Wenger said about four years ago he expects him to end up playing through the middle. Now he's giving him the occasional chance (he's responded with four goals).

and making special mention of it when negotiating a new contract. I know you are going to argue that doesn't show he was demanding it but the threat was implicit

At 23, I guess he's approaching a time when he could understandably say, if not now then when?

The last I heard him talk about it in the press he categorigcally said he doesn't expect to play there every game, but he'd like a chance

Even though I've defended the little cùnt from the abuse over the last however many years, he is currently f**king us over.

Of course we have to sign him so we have to let him rape the boss and the club until he signs - meanwhile we can't focus on getting new players in.

is leaving Sagna exposed - to the effect that we've seen, and distorts the balance of the team in all directions.

HE'S COMING STRAIGHT OUT OF COMPTON

just the one in Hampshire, near Winchester

virtually as a second striker was not a directive from Wenger, then you are more naive than an African defender negotiating with a second hand car dealer.

Anyway, I like his corners and his free kicks (of the non-shooting variety).

As for him playing hard-ball on the contract - I don't think we know enough to judge whether he has acted wrongly or disloyally. But on what we do know, I can't see the issue

the default position of 'taker' for competitive games.
This wouldn't yet appear to be the case.

he fúcked off into the middle of his own volition. To me, as someone who likes to think he has a decent grasp of the game, it's obvious, but I acknowledge that's merely my opinion.

as has been pointed out financially he could get a hell of a lot more elsewhere and if he used a strong bargaining position to push the case for where he wanted to play, bully for him

into the net because he failed to do the 'obvious' thing and close the opponent down, or was he following orders to stay on the near post until the ball was cleared?

As for Slough, shouldn't you have logged in as the Rich character for that one?

I don't think there's any guarantee he would have blocked it even if he had pressured Danny Graham. It was a fairly brief moment between the pass and the shot.

Altrnatively, Arteta may not have been 100% sure he was going to shoot and decided in a split-second to stand his ground.

He may have had tired legs late in the game which would have slowed his ability to make the quick movement required from a standing start to make the block.

He may have been imbued with a sense of inevitability that we would concede yet another ****ty, soft goal and decided in a moment of existential angst that it simply wasn't worth trying to block it because it's all fúcking pointless anyway.

I actually, genuinely think the last one is the most likely.
