Fair enough, he's never done anything to match his 90s heyday but he's starting to amass a body of work bettered only by the very best, people like Kubrick and stuff.

Best basically drunk himself to death, Einstein could barely speak as a child, Howard Hughes was more than a tad OCD and I'm sure there's a raft of examples where unusual behavior coexists with creativity, talent and exception.

But I agree. A complete tosser

they would be described by all and sundry as a massive diva who's lost all sense of perspective. Yet he gets away with it, presumably on the grounds of being a cool, law-unto-himself maverick.

since watching it. But man, what a hatchet job. Seems unfair on the family that you can get away with that kind of depiction purely because the subject is dead.

he was always in there trying to cadge fancy Italian suits on the cheap, on account of he was training with the BBC.

or the sinned against.
This presumably makes it alright and more acceptable.

I suspect he still pulled the legs from crane flies as a child, grinning as he did it.

Which is maybe why managers hesitate to explain them.

There is also, of course, the bums-on-seats factor to consider. Although that's mostly their own bum on the manager's seat as much as it is the public's.

had Rosamund Pike wandering around naked

I read somewhere recently that they are thinking of changing the libel law to take into account the family of dead people, to give them some recourse to action. Not sure it was total speculation or not. Mind you, I think Hitchcock's peccadilloes were actually known during his lifetime in this case

Garrincha's family tried to sue his biographer, after Garrincha's death, for claiming the Brazilian Emmanuel Eboue had a 12 inch cock. True story.

Helen Mirren as Alma Reville & Scarlett Johansson as Janet Leigh. It's more about his relationship with his wife Alma, set during the filming of Psycho.
