utterly needless emotive soundtracks they invariably lay over the top.

All they serve to do is over-anthropomorphise the animals and turn the viewing experience into something more akin to watching a Pixar movie.

These shows are supposed to be informative, but by signposting moments as “sad�, "exciting", or "tense" with audio cues you are detracting entirely from the show’s educational potential.

Why can’t a programme be entertaining simply by virtue of it being informative?

In conclusion, Attenborough’s a ****stain.
