I think Juve were reportedly offering £10m or so.

If we had done that, we would (probably) not been able to buy Giroud or Podolski.

Would that have been preferable?

seems to have forgotten this. Not that anyone wants the c**t but I noticed Fergie said there was no way he'd sell Nani to Arsenal... Just another sad reflection of how the 2 clubs have drifted apart from the glory days of going head to head.

It would be lovely to just focus on the football but that isnt possible if we are going to discuss transfer fees.

Under Don Howe and Terry Neill. At least then we knew we weren't winning because of incompetence and that could change at some point in the future.

The current managed "above average" position won't be changing as it's actually part of the business plan. I genuinely believe we will not win another trophy under the current regime.

We're not good enough to win the 2 competitions we actually claim to give a **** about.

We'll hide this behind "not being able to compete with Chelsea, City, United, Reading, whoever" but the truth is we don't want to invest the required funds.

And we won't bother with the 2 domestic cups.

So that's us f**ked really. Which is a bit depressing.
