View Full Version : It's odd that wishing cancer on someone is The Worst Thing Ever but wishing Hell on them

('Go to hell') is perfectly acceptable. Obviously cancer exists and Hell doesn't, but surely it's the thought that counts, and while cancer is pain for a while then death, hell is burning torture for eternity (in theory) - which should be worse.

Double standards imo.

Cancer isn't. Everyone know someone affected by cancer.

but the context here is that when person X (let us call him, for example, Paul J) wishes cancer upon someone it is because they *have in his opinion* done something to deserve it (such as, in his opinion, thinking that DB10 didn't mean That Goal against Newcastle, or by just being John Bishop).

In this contect the hypothetical cancer is wished as a punishment, in the same way that hell is wished on people as a punishment.

who knows, perhaps in 500 years they will discover cancer doesn't exist, either http://www.awimb.com/images/smiley_icons/smile.gif
