A game we should have won by at least 5 clear goals, fantastic going forward but our flaws were also on show against a very poor Reading team. Our midfield needs to support the back four more & we need to cut out the silly mistakes.
Szczesny 7 Handling was very good all night. Nothing he could do about the two goals.
Sagna 7 Solid performance & showed maturity & why he is still an important player for Arsenal.
Mertesacker 7 Not the quickest but reads the game well & has the experience we need.
Vermaelen 7 Coming back into form, at last. Not too much to do apart from the mental 10 minutes when we switched off
Gibbs 5 Had a good game apart from a 10 minute spell when he was at fault for both goals, one very poor pass & played Reading on for the second goal.
Arteta 7 Worked hard & we needed his defensive qualities in an attack minded line up.
Wilshere 8 Worked his socks off, shows great passion & good use of the ball. Booked for getting fouled!?
Walcott 8 His pace caused them problems all night, missed one good chance when one on one but got the goal he deserved with a smart finish.
Ox 7 Not been in the best of form as compared to last season but looks to be getting back to his best.
Cazorla 9 Fantastic work ethic, a fine hatrick & would have been a 10 had Wenger kept him on.
Podolski 8 One of his best performances in an Arsenal shirt, great goal to get us on our way & worked hard. Can he do this on a regular basis though?
