Chipolopolo Boys defender Stopilla Sunzu is set to miss the friendly match against Tanzania and the Glo-CAF Awards gala in Accra, Ghana as he is set to leave for England this week.
Zambianfootball.co.zm understands that Sunzu is headed for north London, precisely Arsenal but the player hasn’t yet left.
After processing his papers on Friday, Sunzu returned to Lubumbashi on Saturday.
The 23 year old former Afrisports and Zanaco player is still waiting on his UK Visa and other paper work to be finalised before he takes a flight to London this week to seal the pending deal.
“Yes, it’s true Sunzu is going to Arsenal but he hasn’t left. He went back to Lubumbashi,” a ZamFoot Crew source close to the player said.
Should the deal be rubber-stamped, then the highly rated defender who can also play in the holding role will be the second Zambian player in the English Premier League as his compatriot and international teammate Emmanuel Mayuka is plying his trade at Southampton.
Collins Mbesuma also had unsuccessful spell at then EPL side Portsmouth.
