When will our schools come to grips and actually do something about how vulnerable they are? Instead they do the opposite, proudly touting their schools as a "Gun Free Zone". this school even had an elaborate 'lock-down' system, giving them a false sense of safety. Horrific.

Might as well hang up a sign for the deranged saying "Commit mayhem and massacre here, nobody will stop you." Remember, the mentally ill and deranged have long ago attained victim status in our society. We need to "understand" them rather than lock them up.

You watch, the debate will be the oppposite,i.e., how to take guns away from responsible, law abiding citizens. Pass a law and then we can all feel better and pretend we actually did something.

I can defend my property, myself, and my loved ones. For me that's a pretty big benefit. The alternative is to hide in a corner and pray that Officer Wiggums finishes his donut in time to amble over. Even then their first move is to protect themselves in these situations (see Columbine).

There is no better defender than someone who themselves are in danger.
