With a fortune estimated at $17.4 billion by the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Usmanov has plowed millions of dollars into fencing through a dedicated charity fund.

The federation almost doubled its budget during Usmanov’s first term to as much as 24.5 million Swiss francs ($26.2 million), it said today in a statement. It’s seeking to increase the number of Olympic fencing medal events at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro games to 12 from 10, according to the statement.

and they wonder why i prefer this guy to own our club rather than stan.....our boards propaganda cant forever scare ppl into believing usmanov wants to destroy arsenal....all his business and other involvements are absolute success ....why would he destroy arsenal...it makes no sense

this could be us in 2015....."arsenal almost doubled their budget during Usmanov’s 3 years at the club" lets hope so...lets also hope wenger is still here by then http://www.awimb.com/images/smiley_icons/cloudnine.gif

impending FFP rules make such things impossible. And when has the Giant Slug ever unambiguously offered the club **** FREE MONEY ****?

he also has a feeling for the game, you can clearly see he was a spartak moscow fan as a kid. how he talks, how he backs wenger, how he invites fans, he wants to be more popular than abramovic.

my advice to stan would be sell while you can get a decent price....if wenger leaves and we miss out on CL football....your share price will go down...and then you have to spend money to make us CL club again....it wont be pretty

under the subsequent regime change that also saw him astonishingly aquire out of thin air a major portion of the mineral resources of the former Soviet Union.

Ho hum. Perhaps he'd saved up to be an oligarch from his paper round. Yes, that probably explains it.

dividend from his ownership.

If he intends to bankroll us with free money why has he never said that this is what he will do?

He has threatened legal hell on anyone that publishes details of his shady past, and jumps opportunistically on situations like Robin's departure to try and gain political capital.

Is QI terms, he sets all the claxons off as being the 'obviously wrong answer' to AFC.

we have nothing to lose imo.....beside no one makes money from a football club....the only way to make money from football is to sell the club...i'm sure usmanov knows this....this is for him a question of status, he wants to be the owner of the biggest club in the world

no one can give one logical reason why stan is any better than usmanov...because there isnt...its all based on fear.....fear created by our board

and he did bring good times to chelsea.....

most rich ppl make their money in illegal ways anyway.....most of the rich in this country has exploited working class ppl in britain and third world nations anyway......this moral argument is weak

We do not know what Usmanov will do. He has not made public his plans, he has never talked about ploughing money into the club. He has given us no reason to trust him, whatsoever. Being rich does not mean squat.

and not 200 pounds betty from across the street.....

not that i believe any of them wants to rape the club, i just think usmanov is more ambitious

Usmanov has offered nothing of any substance.

way to artificial success.

I understand that pov - and many of our fans agree with you. I'm with those who want the club to live within its own means, for better or worse, rather than have trophies bought by gangsters.

as I said earlier, not too many fans are happy with Kronke's ownership, but he has owned sports franchise's and has history, no matter how average his US teams are.

1- he has no history of investing in any of his sports clubs and shows no signs of starting now

2- russian owners all over Europe are spending serious money......no single american owner is spending any of his money on a football club.

the difference between the two is clear...

takeover it has certainly accentuated during his tenure and the fact he owns other sports clubs is a detail but seeing as they are not very successful is hardly a recommendation.

but in a world where italian clubs are supported by billionaires.....spanish clubs suported by banks.....russian clubs supported by oligarchs....and now english clubs supported by rich owners......demanding aresnal to be run like tibetan village is basically refusing to compete in the real world.

very nobel....but not realistic .....i want us to adapt to the times....if football comes to its senses and clubs are run like business then we'll be in a good position. too

i want us to be like the invincibles , we can play if you want to play..and we can fight if you want a fight

pockets. Wage caps, drafts, player trades instead of actually buying a player. All profits made from these "franchises" only goes to one place, the owners.

Most football clubs reinvest their profits in their playing squad. Since he has taken over every year we've announced a profit it has been banked http://www.awimb.com/images/smiley_icons/indifferent.gif

But I am not sold on Usmanov at all. For no other reason than Ears doesn't like him.

Ears is way smart.
