I have defended Alan Smith to you before but I have to say basing an article on such innuendo seems to be a rather c**ty thing to do.

Not sure that the Sagna thing holds up either - he had been consistently the best right back in the league before his first leg break and has been injured on and off since then. Not sure how that is not developing. Also, as a player who is unlikely to cause trouble, it was very odd that he threatened to go on strike while at Auxerre to force a move to us.

it is easy to criticize Robson and Smith and others for seemingly turning against AW at this stage, but the fact is that they do care and they have more insight than most fans (well, at least Robson).

RvP lost faith in AWs ability, (as did Song?) now Walcott and possibly Sagna follow suit. We know Cesc wouldn't have left if he felt things were going in the right direction.

Last year RvPs incredible scoring record, Henry, a reborn Rosicky and a couple crumbling opponents allowed us to grab a CL place.

This year things have gotten worse. People are criticizing Podolski for not performing when he is pushed out on to the left while Gervinho is played as centreforward. If you think your manager has lost it, it isn't easy to play out of position in a team that no longer believes in itself.
