spend the bulk of it on 'just one superstar'.

Then again I'd love to have seen Roque Santa Cruz and Berbatov down the years as well. I love that style of centre forward.

This 40-50m tranch seems to have been lying around in the vaults forever.
What concerns me more is AW's rash of poor signings, particularly upfront, with the money he has spent.
Gerv, Chamakh, Giroud, Arshavin, Bendtner, all a bit flakey, given the signings of the past. Can't see that any of that lot are significantly better than Darren Bent.
What was wrong with nicking Berbatov on the cheap. http://www.awimb.com/images/smiley_icons/shrug.gif

He has a realistic shot now he didn't have previously, to try and become first choice Arsenal striker. That might motivate him.

We seriously lack that zip and finish up front....Suarez is nippy enough.

Giroud is fine but he can't play every game and the alternatives aren't that great....Chamakh, Bendnter, Germissio, Walcott (wenger doesn't want him up front), Oxlade (same), Arshavin (poor guy).

If he's THAT bad, why did Juve take him on? And he's consistent enough for Denmark too. He doesn't have Van Persie to compete with anymore either

although none of this is based on the last couple of games.

Luis Anaconda

In fact they weren't all that keen to take him anyway

"Bendtner is not the high-profile striker we were hoping to sign, but it's a chance we had to take in a difficult market like this," Marotta stated to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Hardly a glowing reference is it.

who wouldn't have even been on the radar for a club of that stature. Bendtner kept himself in the shop window at the Euros

Going to sign for 90grand a week. Until they are willing to stump up serious wages we are going to be forced to keep signing cheaper, less 'attractive' players, meaning a higher risks of signing more gervinhos, or relying on younger signings like the ox. Neither of those help.

The worst thing we could do at this point in bring in more ordinary players. We already have more than enough of those.

I'm just saying I'd prefer to have Bendtner as a striking option over most of our current options. He is a bit streaky, he is capable of going on a scoring run

When you consider that most of those appearances were from the bench as well, he becomes a tantalising prospect.

The other thing is Bendtner is so pig headed and full of himself he'd just brush off the inevitable abuse he'd get from the crowd http://www.awimb.com/images/smiley_icons/smile.gif
