I suggested on here yesterday morning that we might need a penalty to win the game against fellow stragglers West Brom,and so it proved. With misfiring strikers like Gervinho, stressed out Giroud and Plodolski it's hardly rocket science to work out why we are struggling to score goals. We have probably the most creative midfield in the league, but it's all pass pass pass,with very little at the end of it all. Of course Santi dived for his penalty , he was also at in the game against mighty Swansea - with all the other clubs though also having divers at work for them why should Wenger be left out of the fun? However, Santi will not be on the Prem referees Xmas card list now and when he should be awarded a spot-kick in the future it will be waved away. Ask Suarez about it.
The second penalty was not a penalty either because AOC clearly pushed a WBA player over in the build up, but if the football games were decided on points for artistic appreciation then our neat midfield passing would have won it for us yesterday . What we really need is for our strikers to put away the chances that they are getting.
I stick with my view that Poldolski, is he a wide player or a up front one, needs to do better with his chances, he also looks a bit one paced. Is this down to him being injured; or was he always a bit slow ? . I long ago gave up on the clownish Gervinho, and Henry can't come back quick enough for me.
