Both great managers in their time, who stayed on far longer than was good for their club.

when United are going through a sticky patch. You are either in or out - the tabloids have no concept of shades. I still don't see why they should be taken seriously though. Back in August, the same papers were saying we were title contenders. Now our squad is the worst since Wenger arrived, despite the fact that we have exactly the same players.

Cue the 'oh well if you think staying in the premier league is a trophy then you need more ambition and passion and pride and sprouts etc etc'

He only became piss sodden as a consequence of his declining influence in the game and with the teams he managed.

realistic alternative than to get behind him and the team and see what sort of a turaround can be managed from here to the end of the season.
The slow burn fuse of the media won't stop shadowing him until we put in a decent run of results.

outside the prism of our own inherently flawed position as fans of the club in question.

inform Clough before signing one of his players. Apparently an innocent oversight, however they fell out over it and were not reconciled before Taylor's death. This drove Clough to overdo the single malt.

As I understand it.
