one i got when Big Al* brought him to the play group in Wapping park. He was his chauffeur when he was playing at West Ham and serving a drving ban.

*Big Al was a wheeler dealer type, always selling goods that had "fallen off the back of a lorry". I think he was selling aftershave that day.

but say you met a famous musician somewhere. Wouldn't it be nice to have a quick snap. IN teh old days you could only ask for an autograph.

I don't mean going specifically to autograph signing sessions.

So your flat is empty during the day, right? Except for the cat.

I apply this to adults only of course.

I would add to your list the desire to own a football shirt as worn by a hero such as the utterly ridiculous scenes displayed by the two fat Spurs fans and indeed our very own brother PRSB.

Sorry mate.

Perhaps it is the belief that Pires Shooting Right Boot makes no sense so a subsconscious decision is made given that it is really of little or indeed f**k all importance.

You'd normally be the first in the queue to berate another for accosting a no mark in the street for a picture.

Mikael Silvestre is a decorated footballer.

I'm with you entirely on no-marks. I cringed when my friend showed me a picture of him and that gymnast homo Louis Smith from the Olympics.

Also, my reaction on seeing Jeremy Beadle outside Highbury many years ago was not to ask for a photo, but to mock him (he later attributed this incident, amongst others, to his terminal mental decline and ultimately his death).

haven't even seen a celeb out and about for years. Last one I can recall was Bobby Davro in Marbella sitting in a restaurant with a young girl (not Savile style, but she must have been late teens/early 20s)
Strangely when Ruud Gullit was Chelsea manager I saw him twice in a couple
of months. Once at HMV in Oxford Street, and then again at Amsterdam airport.

It had one autograph in it (Courtney Cox), then found its way to the bin a few years later.
