players they became? A mistake, in my view.

On paper, this lot are as good as any we've had in the past. All that's missing is the trophies.

Adams, cole, henry, overmars, seaman.......i could go on, i really could http://www.awimb.com/images/smiley_icons/smile.gif

I agree this lot are far, far better than their performances suggest. But none of them compares to anyone on that list.

The training ground should be a seriously horrible place to be on monday. I mean it.

Arsene needs to get the hairdryer out

The notion that trophies separate them is fundamentally flawed.

made their Arsenal debut? How many of them went on to become ISs?

I'm merely stating that the players in this squad, at the start of their Arsenal journey and being yet to achieve anything with us, are comparable in "stature or ability", as you put it, as any we've ever had.

Compare Bergkamp to Poldi, Campbell to Per, Caz to Paddy, Alan Smith to Giroud. George Graham wasn't able to call upon a Germany forward with over a hundred caps, or a defender who was a Belgian international captain, rather than two who played in the worst English league backline of all time. And how He would have loved a Jack Wilshere!

I am questioning the idea that this squad is necessarily weaker, on paper, than any of its predecessors.

like when you f**ked up as a kid and your parents yelled at you, until the one time where you really f**ked up and they said nothing?

the players may simply decide that He has "lost it" were He to do it now.

As I alluded to in my dog comment, He still needs them to play for Him in the next game; they are still His players.

Bergkamp and podolski?

George Graham?

I dont think you can honestly compare across those eras. George knew how to get the most out pf decent players and the english league had far less talent in it then.

The idea that this squad is as strong as arsene's previous ones will be shown for the lunacy that it is over the next few years. Well, actually it wont, because it will break up over the next three years.

I like to think you dont really believe it.

How many caps did Dennis have when we signed him?

Yes, I know it's not the point but it is the point I am making http://www.awimb.com/images/smiley_icons/smile.gif
