On cheap. That was his thing. That has totally changed. He has wasted so much money in recent years on absolute rubbish. Why can't we get rid of chamakh, arshavin, djourou - because they are high earners. Picking up the fans money each week after doing f**k all. Why would they want to leave?

Park at 6m or whatever http://www.awimb.com/images/smiley_icons/banghead.gif what's happened to our scouting system?

...but aside from the odd gem that could be plucked out of the ether for a pittance, I'm not sure Wenger has had enough to play with...

those who who know the value of football transfers said it equals 27 million today

which means wiltord who was a useful player and coased us 12 million would be about the same if not closer to 30

then pires was a 7 million signing would be 17 million

thats front 3 of more than 70 million .....can you see us doing that today?

if pires or henry was available today chelsea and man city would get them, just like city, united, chelsea all made 32 million bids for hazard. and we run away

yes vieira was a bargain, but he was a youngster, incorporated into a team of men

ppl talk about michu, who is a bargain, but we had a bargain in petit and toure, you can find one or two bargains, but you cant build a squad of champions like that, which is why swansea with their michu are 8th or 9th

at the end of the day, a certain amount of money must be spent ona championship winning squad....then we can talk about if we have the right manager in place or not

That was always the point; we don't buy superstars, we make them. They all did their best work, up to that point, for us.

We made them, just like we hope to do with some of this lot. Nothing has changed there.

Lost the f**king plot! Vela, denilson, bentner, gervino, etc etc, and what do we have left to play on the field sgainst f**king swansea!!?
Hectic schedule with an average 16 man team means a miserable month ahead I fear

..get their act together. I'm not saying Wenger is blameless, nor that his time is not maybe up. Just that there are issues that run through the club, that won't be resolved by his departure.

lets not forget we broke the british transfer record to get bergkamp

imagine us breaking the british transfer record now for a striker nd partnering him with a striker valued 27 million

the henry-bergkamp partnership wasnt exactly cheap was it?

In fact, we are better placed financially than we've ever been. Juve bought our best player in 1980 and trebled his wages. Now, they can't even pay us proper money for one of our cast offs.

We've invested plenty in this squad but, when all is said and done, either these players are good enough to win us the league or they are not.

they could still get top 4 though.

what i'm woried about is what if wenger continues to lose will the board keep him til the end of the season....and how would these players react to a leaving manager?

and if he's let go, who is ready now,

i see no benefit in us missing out on the top 4, because some people want drastic changes at the club. i think the board has alot on their hands if this situation gets chaotic. lets hope wenger regains control of the situation and the fans.

and our transfer outlay from the past years. getting 1 or 2 names exited me enough for the season. ...even 5 or 6 years ago, i never cared how much we spent. i blame chelsea and city
