View Full Version : Arsenal's front 6 - would any of them get into a title challenging squad?

No-one knows LESS about Wenger than Myles Palmer

Giroud, Walcott, Arshavin and Podolski are all mid table players

Gervinho and Chamakh are Championship players

Wenger needs to sign a minimum of three decent attacking players in Jan if Arsenal want to make the top 4

Or we may have to do a Chelsea and win the Champions League to get in next season

yes you can find the odd bargain ....but you get what you pay for generally.

rooney = 30 million

rvp = 24 million

dzeko = 27 million

baloteli = 24 million

tevez = 25 million

aguero = 32 million

hazard = 32 million

oscar = 25 million

mata = 23 million

and then

gervinho = 10 million

podolski = 11 million

giroud 12 = million

ours have far more goals and assists at about half the cost too(though the three Chelsea players compared were Marin, Hazard and Oscar)

salaries quoted are guess work. However we do know that we have the 4th highest wage bill in the league and we do know that we pay our highest earners a lot less than the 3 teams above us. It is reasonable to assume that we pay mediocre players a lot more than we should. My comments were aimed at the figures quoted, not the principle. Some players salaries have been quoted from £50K to £70K in a matter of weeks.

The latest quote is that we are negotiating with Wilshere to take a pay cut if we do not qualify for the CL. Any truth to that?

torres is a flop but id rather have chelsea's 3 behind torres than ours.

but if the run of results doesn't improve, will the board be prepared to finance the manager?

so then the coffers have a dent put in them, and there's no CL revenue next season either.

in terms of value for money.

Oh and for me Hazard is not really progressing like he looked like he would after the first few games.
