Sold Liam Brady. Abba was everywhere. f**king haircut Bands, Duran Duran who at least had one good song in Hungry like the Wolf. A Flock Of Seagulls ffffs, The Bee Gees went disco.
However, the Pistols, Clash, Specials, Madness et al, made up for it.
Surprisingly Australian music hit its straps then as well. Midnight Oil, Cold Chisel, Inxs, The Church ( greatest band in the history of music, just shading the Stones)
I was a DJ in the 80s and I found a lot of it just dire.
and then along came Michael Thomas who brightened up my whole decade.
