if the headline read:

"WILSHERE - WENGER HASN'T OFFERED ME A CONTRACT YET"

?

The club have finally woken up to the dangers of not allowing players to run down their contracts until they have one leg out the door.

The notion that we never tried to sign these players up before is laughable

The alternative really is too distressing to contemplate.

a timely manner. At least, as some have pointed out, we are trying.

PS Neg is in your neck of the woods today and tomorrow. I say your neck of the woods, I have no idea if he is anywhere near you but he is in the land of your beloved Angela.

I am genuiely no longer bothered about players leaving etc.

They are replaced by new players and the cycle continues.

We kept Thierry, Dennis, Paddy, Bobby, Cesc, Van Persie, et al for a fair old whack of time.

I didn't feel short changed at all nor did I feel even a smidgeon of animosity towards him for leaving.

It is quite simply how football operates.

Players leave football clubs. The players we sign have left / walked out on / **** on their clubs to join us.

Many much more talented footballers than TW have left us in recent memory.

I just don't see the point in getting upset by these things.

on him leaving, when in fact it seems you are indifferent.

though.

As Arsene has recently reminded us, in case we needed reminding, we don't buy top players, we make them. That's OK when the rate of replacement is slow enough but what we are now seeing is the rapid departure of our best players - including some who took several years to bring to the boil (Robin, Theo). Their replacements will either take time to develop and mature (Ox), will not be at the technical level or require a different style of play (Giroud), or will just be a bit **** (Gervinho).

Apart from the time taken for a new side to gel together, we are having to overplay some (Cazorla, Arteta) due to lack of depth/injury elsewhere, and underplay others (Jack) due to recovery from injury.

I'm usually quite relaxed about staff churn (apart from some initial disappointment and venting) but we are rather short of quality at the moment. Losing Theo and Sagna, after Robin and Song, after Cesc, Nasri and Clichy is rather a lot to replace.

At least the young Welsher had a decent game against Villa. Apart from the one trademark silly backflick.

and we only got 1 real good season out of him. He used that season to get a big money move to Man Utd after Wenger showed faith in him through all the years of injury.
