What's a decent cheap(ish) camera to buy

Off on hols on January and Ive decided my camera phone won't make the nut this time. Not really into photography but would like to be able to zoom in bit. Hoping to spot a tiger in India but don't suppose I'll be near enough for my whatever pixel iPhone I have.
Maybe £300 ?

I must say I've very impressed by it, x30 zoom on still & video which is actually usable due to the image stabilisation it has.

It's been out for a couple of years so you should be able to pick one up for just over £200.
