In a situation where he has to play but doesn't deliver enough. Pretty much costing managers their jobs too. Wonder how popular he is amongst the Chelsea fans? Been given a lot if time and leeway to come good again. Even Abramovich had to eventually accept another of his big signings in Shevchenko wasn't up to it, might be a similar conclusion for Torres too

if he'll effectively be replacing him if he signs Falcao though?

Allegedly was the beginning of the end for Mourniho too when he refused to play Shevchenko. Sure Ancelotti also said Torres wasn't his signing

Benitez is a dream appointment for Torres, who only showed his true ability when he was taken to Liverpool by Rafa.

Right, so what about the form that led to Liverpool signing him in the first place? And what about the injuries that have cost him his pace and ultimately his ability to be a top class striker anymore?

Looked amazing when playing in an overly attack minded league when scoring records are simply unnatural and cannot be replicated in other leagues.

That's what a makes a player like Ronaldo a standout for me. He's done it England and in Spain. Top notch quality.

maybe due to injuries, or he may have played a lot of youth football, not sure. During the MOTD analysis last night they were suggesting he's lost a yard of pace, probably significant in his case, especially playing as a lone striker

Also, chelsea dont really play in the same way as liverpool where most of his goals came from long, quick transition balls or diagonals out from the back.
