Every f**ker else did. Its ludicrous that a club of our means and size had ONE striker in the squad today.

there is no telling how much of all this is smoke and mirrors.

I suspect that the money is there to spend but the players Wenger really wants will not come for the wages on offer.

structures is probably the biggest pointer. Newcastle's total wage bill is just about 1/3 of ours, West Broms is probably even less. Ba for example is rumoured to be on 30k a week. Chamakh is on more than double that.

http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/transfer-news/Newcastle-read y-to-double-Demba-Ba-wages-to-60k-a-week-to-convince-him-to- stay-at-club-article851639.html (http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/transfer-news/Newcastle-ready-to-double-Demba-Ba-wages-to-60k-a-week-to-convince-him-to-stay-at-club-article851639.html)

If you honestly think those players i've mentioned are on the same money as ours you're a fool. You don't though, you're just being argumentative.

Unless you actully know, i.e. seen the payslips, or downloaded their HR database, then it can only be guesses based on speculation.

I hear that Gervinho is on under £40k a week becuase the hold up in the original deal to sign him was that Spurs came in offered him £40K, then withdrew a week later. Again this is what I heard and I have no proof, so it can't be seen as reliable.

Chief executive Ivan Gazidis was at pains to emphasise the club’s self-sustaining model, claiming that the club “can and will forge its own path to successâ€, though he must be concerned about the continuing decline in operating profits, which have fallen from a £31 million peak in 2008/09 for the football business. In fact, excluding property development, the club actually reported an operating loss of £18 million last season (2011/12), compared to the previous year’s £9 million operating profit. This £28 million turnaround was due to operating expenses (£38 million) rising much faster than revenue (£10 million).

Only in profit through player sales. Nothing to do with that slippery arsehole.

have posted an £18M loss.

Not something you'd expect from the Premier League's highest paid CEO.

of course the club can easily suggest that the Emirates deal is the difference and that the new deal will mean that we will not make an operating loss, player transfers excluded. The question is can we move forward without selling our better players?

be in the Top Five. Don't think there's a comparison. Clough's was challenging for trophies (and winning some) until his final season when they were relegated.
