commision..its just sIT software for the, one is a east euro loan co. like wonga the other is a retirement housing/building/home co. that appeared on a tv watchdog type thing.. should i feel any problems with this? maybe give a 1k£ of the comm to charity ? or just ignore it..not closed yet but was just wondering. for some reason i attract wrong uns sold to BCCI, Enron and in my first sales job for a business exhibition company ( blue chip) sold a HUGE stand to scientologists..agreed with them to put it under fake co. name so it wasnt rejected by our bosses http://www.awimb.com/images/smiley_icons/smile.gif but for some reason this ones made me ponder

... if you are dropping your technical colleagues in the **** by making unrealistic promises on such things as cost and timescales on data migrations then I hope you rot in hell.

I am contractually obliged to offer solidarity to my comrades who deliver the *real* wealth in these deals, you see. http://www.awimb.com/images/smiley_icons/wink.gif

Just that it doesn't actually involve any real creation of wealth - just oils the wheel of capitalism to allow supply and demand to meet each other.

My only objection to it is that the real wealth creators never get a 20k bonus on the closing of 2 deals in which they will probably do at least as much work as the salesman. :unclekarl:

Sometimes you do really use it to make sure you cover all possibilities and cover your arse if it does not come in

project manager asks can you do this by then. It's up to them to do all the scheduling and tell the client what can and can't be implemented in the timescale so they probably use all the MoSCow/DSDM stuff.

Personally i can't be doing with it and have no idea why they taught me it.

I've done some development in rare and proprietory languages but not a proper coding career like our Herbs, for example.

Although my experience in small software houses, and working for their clients, suggests that a lot of the academic and corporate techniques and buzz-procedures never get a look-in.

Imo.

Though I've never been in direct sales so I don't have the "feel" for spotting wronguns (Except George W Bush - I sussed him instantly.) But the above is my stand as is, and you can certainly do what you want to make you feel better about yourself - prob should anyways!
